Hello,

Bill and I would like to take this time to thank everyone for the generous donations to our Hurricane Harvey fund.  Through the kindness of Area Developers, Team Leaders, Suppliers and countless Team Members as well as Gordon’s offer to match our donations, we raised $250, 000.  We were especially touched as we read from Team Members across the county who sent in donations along with words of encouragement and prayers to our teams in Houston, especially those who had experienced their own struggles after confronting a natural disaster such as Harvey in their own hometowns.  We began the Go Fund Me on August 29th and within 10 days we had raised over 90% of our goal!!! Truly amazing how quickly everyone responded! Thank you!

Within one week after the storm, 76 of our 84 stores were back in operation although some stores were only open on a part-time basis due to the impact on our Team Members and curfews in the areas.  The store most impacted by the flooding, TX214, should open in early October.

One hundred and forty-five Team Members were impacted by the storm with documented costs that included damage to apartments, homes, cars, clothes and personal belongings due to flooding. We were able to distribute checks during the week of September 18th, which was less than 3 weeks from the start of the GFM page relief effort.  As you can imagine, the scope of the disaster was unprecedented and we wanted to make sure we had accounted for all of the Team Members impacted by this storm.  Another factor in reaching Team Members was the fact that many had moved to temporary locations such as in the Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange areas, which were hit extremely hard by Harvey. It took time to locate and account for Team Members to assess each situation to help meet their needs.

The outpouring of generosity and concern for the well being of the teams in our area by our Sport Clips family is truly humbling.  We can’t thank you enough for your support.  We also want to thank Gordon for his generous offer to match the funds we collected for the Team Members who were affected by this storm. This enabled us to reach the many needs of the stylists who work in our communities more quickly as they rebuild their lives.  It is times such as these that we are reminded that Sport Clips is a family!  As in every family, we stand together through adversity and celebrate our success together.  Our belief in the generosity of the people who make up this family along with our values in caring for others, made many team members’ lives a little brighter and for that our Houston team is very thankful.

Thank you!

Bill Vandrick
