About the competition:

Sport Clips is looking for top student talent to compete in The Look, Student Edition Competition 2017. Students will submit photography online showcasing “The Look” for 2017 from a hair cut and style session with a male model.

Competition will begin on January 16, 2017. All entries must be uploaded to www.SportClipsJobs.com/Contests-Scholarships by February 28, 2017.

3 winners (along with their educator) will win prize packages and a trip to Sport Clips’ National Huddle Conference in Las Vegas, NV, in April 2017. Finalists will be chosen by the Sport Clips Artistic Team and top industry professionals from American Crew Hattori Hanzo, Nioxin and Sexy Hair.

The Look Competition

Each year, Sport Clips holds a national haircutting competition, The Look, where top stylists from across the country are featured on stage at our National Huddle for a head-to-head battle for the title of ‘The Look Champion’.

The Look 2016 Winner

Sarah Cattrell – Fort Mill, SC

The Look winner Sarah Cottrell created a 30s and 40s classic style with hard part. She was “going for the newer looks many men’s professional soccer players are sporting.” Sarah knew when she was young, playing with Barbie® dolls, that she loved doing hair.


ACE Scholarship

To help cosmetology students reach their career goals, Sport Clips Haircuts, the nation’s leading men’s and boys’ hair care provider, awards up to 20 Access to Cosmetology Education (ACE) Scholarships each year. To be considered for an ACE scholarship candidates must meet both academic and essay requirements established by Sport Clips. Each recipient is presented a $1,000 scholarship to help with educational expenses.

This is the seventh year the Georgetown, Texas-based company, which has more than 1,600 stores across the country and in Canada, has awarded scholarships to eligible students enrolled at an American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) member school. To date, more than $50,000 in scholarship money has been awarded to promote quality cosmetology education.

“Our support of cosmetology students spans across the nation,” says Julie Vargas, Sport Clips Haircuts senior director of career opportunities. “We want these stylists to be equipped with the proper training and skills they need to be successful in the hair care industry upon graduation.
